PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner® Training

PMI Registered Trainer

Enroll in this three-day training (two days if you've taken a CSM or similar class) for a refresher in Agile and Scrum, and to learn other Agile methods such as Lean and Kanban, and advanced concepts such as story mapping. During these three days, you’ll get prepared for Agile Certified Practitioner(PMI-ACP)®, and a whole lot more. You'll also get practical knowledge that you can take to your team and start applying right away.

PMI-ACP® is the newest certification from PMI that will allow you to demonstrate that you can select agile principles and practices as a project management approach based on the needs and demands of a specific project. (Reference: PMI-ACP® FAQ). This certification will help you validate your knowledge and experience in working with Agile principles and practices.

Don’t just learn it, experience it!

Most of this training program is structured as an experiential learning workshop, in which you'll learn from carefully designed activities, well-facilitated discussions, and some lecture. Unlike similar classes, the instructor will not present all of the material from the podium using Power Point slides. This class uses a variety of teaching techniques to keep everyone engaged.

This is not your typical exam prep boot camp that prepares you to just pass the exam. Yes, there will be practice exams and examination preparation but you will also become familiar with principles that can be used to make a difference in your organization.

If you have already Certified ScrumMaster Training or something similar, you can attend only the last two days of this class.

This PMI-ACP® training will provide a broad survey of Agile project management tools, techniques, skills, and knowledge areas. Within the three days, we’ll cover all 6 domains of the upcoming PMI-ACP® exam:

  • Value-Driven Delivery
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Boosting Team Performance Practices
  • Adaptive Planning
  • Problem Detection and Resolution
  • Continuous Improvement (Product, Process, People)

Topics covered include Adaptive Leadership, Agile Principles, Frameworks and Terminology, Agile Project Accounting Principles, Building High Performance and Empowered Teams, Co-Located and Geographically Distributed Teams, Continuous Improvement, Estimation Techniques, Feedback Techniques (e.g. Prototypes, Simulation, Demonstration, Evaluation), Product Roadmapping, Servant Leadership, Team Motivation Techniques, and more.

Who should apply?

If you are working in organizations using agile to manage projects, the PMI-ACP® can provide an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of agile practices. Note that the PMI-ACP® is not limited to project managers or Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential holders; individuals with experience working on agile project teams can apply.

Practitioners looking to:

  • Demonstrate to employers their level of professionalism in agile practices of project management
  • Increase their professional versatility in both Waterfall and agile techniques
  • Hold a certification that is more credible than existing entry-level, training or exam-only based offerings
