Next week is Agile 2008 – the Agile Alliance’s yearly gathering of Agile enthusiasts in North America. Ever since the first Agile development conference was intitiated by Alistair Cockburn and others, this conference has grown from strength to strength. Sure, there have been mumurings about how big it’s become, that perhaps it’s not as friendly to newcomers as to people who’ve attended before, etc. But for me, it’s always been about connecting with others in the Agile community. It remains an unparalled opportunity to meet people in the Agile community, people who are new to Agile, and people who are there just because.
This year, our company, LitheSpeed is proud to sponsor the conference. From the profusion of sponsors, it’s great to see how an ecosystem has sprung up around Agile, and we are priviliged to be among them and give back to the Agile community in a small way. We will be sponsoring Live Aid, produced by Bob Payne. The Agile Lab within Live Aid is a neat idea — people learn Agile and work together during the conference to develop an application that supports a non-profit organization.

Footnote: When I tried to visit the Agile 2008 site today — it crashed. I got the message, “This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota.” Who says you can’t have too much of a good thing. 🙂
