The Kanban System Design (KSD) course equips leaders, practitioners, and change agents with the skills to design, implement, and evolve a Kanban system tailored to their organization’s unique context. Rather than prescribing a one-size-fits-all framework, this course focuses on understanding how work flows today, and how to intentionally design a system that improves outcomes without disrupting what already works.

Through hands-on exercises, real-world scenarios, and practical tools, participants learn how to visualize work, manage flow, make policies explicit, and design feedback loops that enable continuous improvement. The result: a Kanban system that aligns people, processes, and strategy around delivering value faster and more predictably.

  • Design a Kanban system aligned to organizational goals and customer needs
  • Define and evolve explicit policies to improve clarity and decision-making
  • Use flow metrics (lead time, cycle time, throughput) to drive improvement
  • Design effective feedback loops for learning, risk management, and adaptation
  • Apply evolutionary change principles to improve systems without disruption
