In the past few months, I’ve been refining and updating a talk I give titled Small is Beautiful. I chose the title because I believe it really captures the essence of Agile methods. I blogged on this topic last August.

In my opinion, the central concept from E.F Schumacher’s book, Small is Beautiful serves as a great metaphor for us in the business world, and also within the Agile community. Schumacher proposed the idea of smallness within bigness as a decentralized, eco-friendly, sustainable business model. For a large organization to work, he postulated, it must behave like a related group of small organizations.

At the Much Ado About Agile conference, I will speak about how Agile can be scaled up to complex, multi-project environments using small teams, small releases and small governance.

Do stop by if you’re in the area.
